Hong Kong's food safety watchdog found high levels of melamine in 2 of Munchy's Food Industry Sdn. Bhd. They are Munchy's Mini Crackers with Peanut Butter with 5.4 parts per million (ppm) of melamine, and Munchy's Mini Crackers with Cheese Cream with 3.8 ppm. Hong Kong's safe limit for melamine is 2.5 ppm.
Ingesting melamine the chemical above safe concentration can cause kidney stones and lead to kidney failure. Babies and infants are especially vulnerable.
