Food for urinary tract infections

Food for bladder infections:

Cranberries, blueberries, lots of fluids.

Bladder infections or cystitis are caused by the bacteria E. Coli getting into the urinary tract. Theses bacteria cling to the cells lining the urinary tract and bladder by using tiny hairlike appendages anchoring to the bladder cells. Some compounds in the cranberries and blueberries incapacitate the molecules by which the E. coli bacteria attach to the cells and they are thereby washed away in the urine.

Important note: Cranberry juice do not cure bladder infectiion for which antibiotics may be necessary. Cranberry juice help prevent recurrence.
