Asprin for heart attacks, also how to recognize heart attack

I received this via an email forward. Yesterday, I also discussed with a pharmacist about the use of aspirin (those aspirin that dissolve in the mouth) and she confirmed that what is recommended below about keeping 2 aspirin beside the bed is a good measure to guard against heart attack. The email says to forward to as many people as possible and the easiest way to do that is to publish it in this blog. This information is useful and you should help pass the message around. A cardiologist estimated that if you tell 10 people about this, 1 life may be saved.

In fact, I think it is so good advice that I will from now on carry 2 aspirin with me everywhere I go. Even if I myself do not have to use it, it may happen that someone may suddenly need it urgently:

New information re: heart attacks

TO ALL AGES. EVEN THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOW NEARING ONLY 50!!
I HAD NO IDEA YOU SHOULD NOT LIE DOWN.

Why keep aspirin by your bedside?

About Heart Attacks

There are other symptoms of an heart attack besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.

Note: There may be no pain in the chest during a heart attack.

The majority of people (about 60%) who had an heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.

If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water..

CALL 911

Do NOT lie down.

Unlock the front door.

Afterwards:

- phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by

- say "heart attack!"

- say that you have taken 2 aspirins.

- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and....

~ Do NOT lie down ~

A Cardiologist has stated that, if each person, after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life can be saved!

I have already shared the information -- What about you?

The advice about aspirin is sound, but I have to take issue with the advice not to lie down. I have researched it extensively, and there is absolutely no reason not to lie down after you have contacted EMS and taken the aspirin. In fact, if you do not have a chair that will keep you from falling out of it if you become unconscious, then YOU SHOULD LIE DOWN. Please remove this dangerous misinformation from your blog; telling people not to lie down can result in further injury if they fall as a result of passing out.

As someone that has heart problems I can tell you that if you lie down the pain almost invariably will increase. I agree that if you cannot find a chair that will hold you if you lose consciousness that you should lie down. However for me, I prefer to remain upright.

The Snopes article distinguishes between what's valid info & what is misinformation in this helpful article. Please read it to get a better picture of what to do --ie why it's important to call an ambulance instead of your neighbour. Other good pts. clarified.

Doctors tend to give aspirins to calm down the nerves. Old men like my father hates pills and he tend to miss his medications at times :( which is pretty bad.

So we came across a herbal tea remedy to help him gulp down the remedy without hesitation and it helped him ! He had a stroke .. due to his heart condition ... please check it out
